DESCRIPTION
A wonderfully characterful vintage hand mirror formed as a stylised six-petal flower, with a circular mirror plate surrounded by individually worked metal petals.
Each petal has been cut and joined by hand, with visible soldered seams forming part of the decorative character of the piece. The metal has a beautiful heat-treated surface, creating irregular bronze, blue, violet and almost petrol-like tones across the petals. The deliberately raw soldering and variation in the finish give the mirror a sculptural, one-of-a-kind quality.
A short integral handle allows the piece to be used traditionally as a hand mirror, while its construction also allows it to be displayed decoratively on a wall.
