DESCRIPTION
A characterful antique Swedish folk chair, crafted from solid timber with a wonderfully sculptural pierced back and simple splayed legs.
The decorative back is beautifully shaped with symmetrical scrolling cut-outs and a central heart-like motif, contrasting with the simplicity of the broad timber seat and slender legs. The surface has developed a rich, warm patina, with visible grain, old marks and wear accumulated through generations of use.
A beautiful example of vernacular furniture, equally appealing as a functional occasional chair or as a sculptural object within an interior.
