DESCRIPTION
A beautifully timeworn antique mirror with a simple architectural pine frame, detailed with moulded cornice, stepped base and restrained pilaster-style uprights. The warm, naturally aged timber contrasts with the heavily foxed mirror plate, giving the piece a wonderfully atmospheric quality.
Papers dating to 1907 were found attached to the reverse of the mirror frame, suggesting the piece was in use by the early 20th century.

Condition: Good antique condition, with age-related wear, marks and patination to the timber consistent with its age. The mirror plate displays extensive foxing and silvering loss throughout. A section of the lower right-hand frame moulding is missing, with further minor losses and imperfections to the frame. These signs of age contribute to the piece’s timeworn character.
