Featuring original plaster, exposed beams, delicious produce, afternoon storms and siestas

House Trotula

Trotula Charming House is set in an ancient Convent of the order of Benedictine Olivetan monks converted into a noble residence at the end of 1600, in the historic center of Salerno between the ancient Duomo and the Garden of Minerva .

During restoration, 17th- and 18th-century plasterwork and frescoes were uncovered and carefully preserved within the thick walls. The demolition of the false ceilings revealed the original high wooden beam ceilings, once again lending grandeur and nobility to the spaces.

Thanks to its privileged, elevated position, this historic and artistically significant building offers sweeping views from its large windows over the rooftops of the Old Town, the sea of Salerno, and the Amalfi Coast.

The renovation was conceived and carried out by the Architects at Work studio and is distinguished by bespoke, handcrafted furniture and a meticulously curated selection of furnishings. Particular attention to detail is evident throughout, where contemporary restoration harmoniously complements the historic setting. Guests are immediately captivated by the property’s unique and enchanting atmosphere.
